1864 Payments On Behalf of Family in Robbinston, Maine, of Civil War Soldier Frank E. Johnson; in 1860s/1870s Ledger of Financial Transactions of Robbinston


Frank E. Johnson, age 21; then serving in Company K of the 6th Regiment; payments made in 1864 on behalf of his family in Robbinston, Maine.

Francis E. Johnson (1843-1909), son of Samuel Goddard Johnson (1803-1866) and Louisa Marietta (Bliss) Johnson (1810-1878).  Samuel's FindaGrave memorial notes that they lost two sons in the Civil War.

Other Johnson soldiers found in this ledger are George E. Johnson and William H. Johnson.

Found on numbered page 34 in a ledger of Robbinston, Maine, financial transactions from the mid 1860s to the 1870s.

  • re-enlisted on 15 February 1864
  • wounded 12 May 1864
  • transferred on 16 July 1864 to 6th Maine Battalion
  • transferred on 20 September 1864 to 1st Vet Infantry
  • rose from private to first sergeant
  • left service 28 June 1865 - honorable discharge

abt 1880 - Frank arrived in Texas and would stay there.

1886 - Frank married Sadie Lynn Perry in Texas; they had several children.

Frank and Sadie are buried in Oakland Memorial Park in Terrell, Texas.
