The third photograph appears to depict Berimon Arthur Keeton (1871-1927), and sons Laurence, Walter and Ernest, and either a daughter or wife Effie Sabina (Reiber) Keeton (1874-1964)

Nancy (Slack) Keeton (1820-1912) is buried in Missouri. Other family members are buried in Kansas and beyond.

1880s Autograph Album of William Chinn Polk (1860-1949), Mainly While in Mobeetie, Texas; with his Later Notes

Autograph album kept by William Chinn Polk (1860-1949), mainly while he was living at Mobeetie, Texas, where he apparently had a drug store at one time and may also have worked for noted cattle dealer Charles Rath, born Carl Gottfried Rath, whose wife Carrie inscribed a page in the album.

William may have been the Billy Polk mentioned in Chapter 21 of The Rath Trail, by Ida Ellen Rath.

The gem sized photograph stamp affixed to the inside front cover presumably shows William Chinn Polk himself.

William was the son and brother of noted architects Willis Webb Polk and Willis Jefferson Polk.  See an incredible sketch, shown farther below, that Willis Jefferson Polk made of the Josephine Hotel at Hot Springs, Arkansas.

The album measures approximately 7" by 4", has detached covers and contains the sentiments of 30 of William's relatives and friends.  William added notes to several of the pages, including one 65 years later.

An alphabetical surname list and an alphabetical list of the inscribers, together with any personal information they offered, appear at the end of this post.

William Chinn Polk was born in 1860 in Missouri, the son of architect Willis Webb Polk and his first wife Parthenia Frances (Dye) Polk, who died in 1866.  William had a sister, Sarah, who died young.  Willis Webb Polk then married Endemial Drane and had several more children, three of whom inscribed pages in William's album.

William's younger half brother, Willis Jefferson Polk, inscribed a page at Hots Springs Arkansas, on December 28, 1884, and included a incredible sketch of the Hotel Josephine.

William's younger half sisters Endie and Dasie, or Daisy, also inscribed pages.  Sadly, Endemial Polk, "Endie", died shortly after the era of the album, in 1890.

Sister Dasie, or Daisy (Polk) DeBuyer-Mimeure (1874-1963) went on to have a noted life, especially known for her relief efforts in France during and after World War I.  She received the Medaille de Reconnaissance and was made a Chevalier in the Order of the Legion of Honor.  William added a note 65 years after Dasie's 1884 inscription, to the point that Dasie had visited him at Weston, Missouri, in the Winter of 1949.

About 1891 in Weston, Missouri, after the era of this autograph album, William married Minnie Hillix.  I believe they had one child, a daughter, Ellen Rebecca Polk, who married George H. Calvert and died fairly young in 1934.  William worked as clerk and cashier at a bank in Weston, Missouri.

He died in 1949; Minnie had predeceased him in 1947.  They're buried in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery at Weston, Missouri.

1879-1880 Autograph Album of Josephine (Deuse or Dewiss or Dewess) Donaldson of St. Louis, Missouri

Autograph album presented to Mrs. Josephine Donaldson by her husband Charles E. A. Robinson at Christmas in 1879.  Josephine's name appears in gold letters on the back cover.

The presentation page:

This "Floral Album" measures approximately 7-3/4" by 4-3/4" and contains only three pages of sentiments amid the scattered pages of floral designs.  It's possible that the album was so significant to Josephine that she decided to retire it for cherishing.

Charles E. A. Donaldson inscribed a touching sentiment to his wife, dated also on December 25, 1879.

Charles also inscribed a sentiment on behalf of the couple's two children, Clara and Charles.

The only other inscriber was Maggie Edwards, who either lived at Greenfield, Illinois, or inscribed her page there on April 3, 1880.

Charles E. A. Donaldson was born about March 6, 1849 in Missouri, son of J. P. Donaldson.  Josephine was Lucretia A. M. J. or A. W. J.  with a surname of Duese, Dewess or Dewiss.   She was born in Illinois about January 1852.

Charles, a clerk, and Josephine married on January 7, 1874 at St. Louis, Missouri and had Clara about 1877 and Charles about 1878.  They would have at least two more children after Charles.

Charles E. A. Donaldson died in 1901 and Josephine in 1934.  They're buried in the Bellefontaine Cemetery at St. Louis, Missouri.

Autograph album that Sarah E. Kirk received at Christmas in 1894 and carried forward until 1918, with inscriptions from relative and friends from before her marriage and with inscriptions from her daughter Margaret Powell later on.

1886-1890 Autograph Album of Frederick Fair, Student at Avalon College at Avalon, Missouri

1886-1890 autograph album that belonged to Frederick Fair of Missouri, a student at Avalon College, initially located at Avalon, Missouri, and moved, in 1890, to a more convenient location at Trenton, Missouri, which lay along a rail line.

Fred didn't inscribe a page in his album, but his identity was confirmed by the first inscription in the album, that of his parents, Thomas Fair and Nancy Isabell (Shields) Fair, "Nannie", and by inscriber H. M. Ambrose, who directed his sentiment to "Fred Fair".  H. M. Ambrose was Hugh M. Ambrose, first president of Avalon College.

The album measures approximately 7" by 4-1/4" and contains several illustrated pages and the sentiments of 38 of Fred's relatives, friends, schoolmates and college instructors.  An alphabetical list of the inscribers, together with any personal information they offered, appears at the end of this post.

Fair was born July 6, 1871 at Avalon, Missouri, the son of Thomas Fair and Nancy Isabell (Shields) Fair.  It doesn't appear that any of Fred's siblings inscribed pages in his album.  However, relatives who did inscribe pages include his maternal aunt, Rebecca Ellen (Shields) Blaine, shown below, and husband William Morrison Blaine, and two of their children, Fred's cousins Harry Elmer Blaine and James Shields Blaine.

It's possible Timothy and Anna are the Timothy Holland, who died in 1918, and Anna Holland, who died in 1919, buried in Plot 19 in the Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum at St. Louis, Missouri.  There's also a Fannie Holland buried in Plot 14.

Cabinet photograph of a baby identified on the reverse as Gene Davis.  The photograph was taken by Grebe's Star Gallery at Rock Port, Missouri.

Several possibilities exist for a Gene Davis or Eugene Davis who may have lived in the Rock Port, Missouri, area, or been taken there to visit relatives.

There's a good chance he was Jesse Gene Davis, born August 27, 1896 in Missouri, son of Jesse Hugh Davis and Lenora (Baker) Davis, "Nora".  Jesse Gene, an accountant, died in 1964 at Kansas City, Missouri and is buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery at Kansas City, Missouri.  His widow, Mrs. Cynthia Grace (Wood) Davis, was the informant on his death certificate.  Whether Cynthia  was his only wife, I don't know.

1870s/1880s autograph album of Miss Artemisia Sallie Chiles, "Artie", of Independence, Missouri.  She, or someone else, wrote her name on the second end paper.

The album measures approximately 8-1/4" by 7" and contains the sentiments of nearly 60 of Artie's relatives and friends from Missouri, Wisconsin and Ohio.  The album, published in Philadelphia by Porter & Coates, also contains 5 full page engravings, in addition to that on the title page below.

From brief online research, hopefully correct:  [corrections and additions requested!]

Artemisia Sallie Chiles was born January 20, 1857 in Missouri, the daughter of Samuel Irwin Chiles and Mary Elizabeth (Hamilton) Chiles.  Samuel was presumably the "Pa", who inscribed a page on March 15, 1876.

Artie had a younger sister, Itaska B. W. Chiles, "Tassie", who inscribed two pages in the album, one in 1882 and the other in 1886.  Click on an image to enlarge it.

About 1881, Artie married John Benjamin Atkinson, son of Dr. Malnor Treat Atkinson and his second wife Louise (Dyer) Atkinson.  Artie and John had at least two children, daughter Louise Elizabeth Atkinson, born about July 1882; and Itaska B. Atkinson, born about March 1885.  John Benjamin Atkinson died in 1931, and Artie died in 1941.  They're buried with family members at Mount Washington Cemetery at Independence, Missouri.
