$500 Reward for Theft of $5000 from Gunnison Express, Boston
$500 REWARD!
For the recovery of the following money Stolen from my room on board the Steamer Admiral, August 14th, 1856, a Small Seal Skin Trunk containing FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS IN FRONTIER BANK BILLS, Eastport, Maine, by a full faced man, dark moustache, no whiskers, about 5 feet 7 inches high, weighing from 150 to 160 pounds, quick gait, had on dark frock coat, black hat; a person answering his description left Boston for New York same evening. Brokers will be cautious who they receive such money from. GUNNISON & CO., EXPRESS, 32 Rail Road Exchange, Boston
The Steamer Admiral made runs between the Maritime Provinces and Boston, Massachusetts. Eastport, Maine, was one of its stops. Once in a while I'll see a bank note from the Frontier Bank on eBay
