Calling Card of Nellie A. Leavitt, possibly Ellen A. Leavitt, "Nellie", of Kenduskeag, Maine
Calling card of Nellie A. Leavitt. Because the card was found with a quantity of mostly Maine calling cards, including some from the Kenduskeag, Maine, area, it's possible that Nellie was Ellen A. Leavitt, "Nellie", of Kenduskeag, Maine.
From brief online research, hopefully correct - corrections and additions requested:
Ellen A. Leavitt, "Nellie", was born in 1859, the daughter of Alfred Wiggin Leavitt and Julia Lavinia (Lucas, I think) Leavitt. Nellie's listed in the 1880 Census of Kenduskeag, Maine, living with her parents and teaching school.
About 1892, according to information in the 1900 Census of Kenduskeag, Maine, Nellie married William E. Nason, son of William K. Nason and Ellen C. (Hodsdon) Nason, "Nellie". I believe William and Nellie A. (Leavitt) Nason had two children, a son and a daughter.
Nellie died in 1940 and William in 1944. They're buried in the Kenduskeag Village Cemetery at Kenduskeag, Maine, with Leavitt and Nason relatives.
