Calling Card of Martha F. Brown, presumably Martha F. Brown (1868-1945) born at New Sharon, Maine

Calling card of Martha F. Brown

Because this card was found with a collection of Maine calling cards, many of them associated with people from New Sharon, Maine, I believe this card belonged to Martha F. Brown, born at New Sharon in 1868.

From brief online research, hopefully correct - corrections and additions requested:

Martha F. Brown was born February 6, 1868 at New Sharon, Maine, the daughter of Luther F. Brown and Emily E. (Sawyer) Brown.  From information in the 1900 Census of New Sharon, Maine, when Martha and Marshall were living with Martha's parents on their farm, Martha married Marshall Cook 1886.  There were no children living with them.

Marshall Cook was born April 25, 1861 at Vienna, Maine, son of Jonathan H. M. Cook and Nancy S. (Holland) Cook.

The 1910 Census reveals that Martha and Marshall had by then moved to Farmington, Maine, where Marshall was working as a laborer.  The 1920 Census shows the couple living at Coburn Gore, Maine, with Marshall working in the spruce gum industry.  By 1930, they were back at Farmington, Maine, and Marshall was working in farming, whether for himself or someone else.

Marshall died in 1932.  Martha was still living in Farmington at the time of the 1940 Census.  She died in 1945; she and Marshall are buried in the Riverside Cemetery at Farmington, Maine.
