This photograph might date from her graduation from Phillips High School in Phillips, Maine, or her graduation from Farmington State Normal School in Farmington, Maine.
Presumably Lillian Lucille Smith (1912-2001), "Lucille", who was born at Madrid, Maine, the daughter of Daniel Mitchell Smith (1968-1945) and Inez E. (Moores) Smith (1875-1956).
The 1930 Census of Phillips, Maine, shows that Lucille was already teaching school at the age of 17. Perhaps she was taking courses at Farmington State Normal School at the same time or would begin her studies there shortly.
In 1937 Lucille married Ralph Alfred Bangs (1892-1961) but the marriage was apparently over by the time of enumeration of the 1940 Census, which lists Lucille living in Nobleboro, Maine, with her three sons and her parents.
Lucille's FindaGrave memorial contains her obituary, which details a remarkable life.
