Stereoview of a beautiful house taken by photographer G. D. Merrill of Farmington, Maine, part of his Sandy River Scenery series.

As you can see in the enlargement below, there's a name written in faint handwriting on reverse.  It might be Johns or Jolson or something like that, or even the first name John.  I found some people named Johns in Censuses in the area in what seems to be the plausible era.
