1919 Photograph of Virginia A. Wyant; photo by Gustave Lorey
1919 photograph by Gustave Lorey of Virginia A. Wyant. Based on similarity to a passport photo, I believe this is Virginia Allison Wyant, who graduated from Wellesley College around 1920.
From online research, hopefully correct: [corrections welcome!]
Virginia Allison Wyant was born 3 February 1898 at Onancock, Virginia, daughter of Claudius N. and Blanche (Northam) Wyant, both Virginia natives.
Her paternal grandparents were Augustine and Amanda F. (Long) Wyant. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Alfred Northam and Vernetta A. (Hinman) Northam.
After graduation, Virginia followed in her father's footsteps by becoming a teacher. I couldn't find her in the 1930 Census, but she may have married by that time.
In the Social Security Death records, there's a record for a Virginia A. Spencer who had a birth date of 3 February 1898 and who died in California in 1993. Perhaps a reader will know if these two women are one and the same.
