CDV of William Nutter of Bunker Hill, Illinois
Carte de Visite of a young man identified on reverse as William Nutter of Bunker Hill, Macoupin County, Illinois.
From online research, hopefully correct: [corrections welcome!]
William Henry Nutter was born 26 May 1849 at Bunker Hill, Illinois, son of Joseph Richardson Nutter and wife Rosamond F. (Furber) Nutter, New Hampshire natives.
In 1885, William Henry Nutter married Sarah E. Phillips, "Sally", daughter of Lewis and Sarah Gibbs (Richardson) Phillips. She was born 3 March 1859 in Illinois. Sarah was the widow of William I. Jones and had a son Edward from that marriage.
By the time of the 1900 Census, William and Sarah had moved to Walla Walla, Washington, where William was working on a farm. They had three children of their own living with them, in addition to Edward (who would die in 1908).
William and Sally had at least two more children. Their first child together died in infancy.

I loved seeing this on the Home Page Pam! Bunker Hill, Il is not something you see very often on a website. My family immigrated to Bunker Hill from Somersetshire in the mid 1800s. I'll pass this on to the Bunker Hill Historical Society. I know they'll appreciate seeing it!
