Cabinet Photo, Elderly Hanna Macklin (Mechling) of Damascus & McClure, Henry Cty, Ohio
Cabinet photo by J. A. Armbruster of McClure, Ohio, of an elderly woman identified on the reverse as Hanna Macklin.
She inscribed the back of her photo to "Miss Mary Heeter, [from] Aunt Hanna Macklin, McClure, Ohio."
I believe Hanna was born in 1817 in Fairfield County, Ohio and died in Henry County, Ohio in 1906. Her parents were Peter Mechling, born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania about 1780, and Mary (Boyer) Mechling, born about 1781 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
At some point, Peter or his children changed the spelling of Mechling to Macklin.
Hanna (or Hannah, as some online sources show) never married. She lived in Pleasant, Damascus and possibly McClure, Ohio.
If you have any information on Hanna or her family, please leave a comment or contact me directly.
