Page of Ethel Maud Foss, Brooks, Maine in Autograph Book of Bertha Clements, Waldo Center, Maine
Page signed by Ethel Foss of Brooks, Maine, in 1889, in the autograph book of Bertha Clements of Waldo Center, Maine.
From online research, hopefully correct:
Ethel Maud Foss was born 29 July 1869 in Maine, the daughter of Samuel and Harriet Robinson (Jones) Foss, both born in Waldo County. Her paternal grandparents were Samuel and Dorothy Ryan Foss. Her maternal grandparents were Daniel and Sarah Ann (Austin) Jones.
She married Eldred Edward McKie, who was born 23 August 1864 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of William and Sarah Ann (Burke) McKie of Prince Edward Island, who had emigrated to Massachusetts. His paternal grandparents were Edward and Sarah (Needham) McKie. His maternal grandparents were Richard William and Ellen Helen (Douglas) Burke.
Eldred Everett McKie and his wife Ethel Maud (Foss) McKie had two sons, I believe; William S. McKie and Edward Foss McKie. In the 1900 Census, the family was living in Southborough, Massachusetts. Ethel died on 13 April 1905 at Southborough. In the 1910 Census, Eldred and his two sons were living in Spokane, Washington. Eldred died in Massachusetts on 11 April 1914.

This post caught my eye. I have both Mixer and Foss grandparents in my ancestry.
ReplyDeleteGeorge S. Mixer appears in the genealogy of some of the other autograph book signers as well. Check the archive of posts on the autograph book of Bertha Clements for any names that look familiar. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
