Photograph of Charles H. Fulton of Bedford, New Hampshire
Photograph of a boy identified on the reverse as Charles H. Fulton of Bedford, New Hampshire, at age 14. The photograph was taken by the Langley studio of Manchester, New Hampshire.
From online research, I discovered two Charles H. Fultons in the Bedford, New Hampshire area, one with a father named Herbert and another with a father named Albert.
It's possible the enumerator on the 1910 Census mistakenly wrote Albert in place of Herbert, as "Albert" was born the same year as Herbert and I couldn't find another instance of an Albert Fulton with a son Charles H. Fulton at Bedford.
So, assuming I have the correct Charles H. Fulton, he was born Charles Herbert Fulton on 4 January 1873 at Bedford, New Hampshire, the son of Herbert Richards Fulton and Eliza Crosby Young Fulton.
I don't know if Eliza's name was Eliza Crosby (Young) Fulton or Eliza (Crosby) Young Fulton, but she married Herbert when she was 19 so it was likely her first marriage. The record of their 1869 marriage mentions Herbert's parents only.
Knowing from the Censuses that Eliza was born in Maine makes me wonder if she was the Eliza C. Young who was the daughter of Charles G. and Hannah S. (Crosby) Young of Portland, Maine. If so, Eliza was born 12 August 1850.
I didn't find a marriage record for Charles Herbert Fulton in any of the Censuses but he may have married in between. He worked in sales. At the time of the 1930 and 1940 Censuses, Charles was living in the household of his sister Minnie Eliza (Fulton) who was married to Allen French King.
