Photograph of Alice Damon Reynolds, sister of Albert A. Damon; taken by Lewiston, Maine studio
Cabinet photograph of a woman identified on the reverse as Alice Damon Reynolds, sister of Albert A. Damon. The photograph was taken by the Hammond studio at Lewiston, Maine.
From online research, hopefully correct: [corrections welcome!]
I found an Alice Damon who married James Reynolds about 1892. At the time of the 1900 Census, they were living at St. Albans, Maine, with Alice's stepmother Rebecca (Graham) Damon.
This Alice was born about March 1869, possibly at Stetson, Maine, the daughter of Frederick A. B. Damon and Sarah (Getchell) Damon and died in 1907. She had a younger brother named Albert A. Damon.
This Alice's parents were divorced in 1871, and her father married Rebecca a few months later. I suppose it's possible that Frederick and Sarah had parted ways earlier and that Rebecca was actually Alice's mother.
If you recognize the woman in the photograph from family albums or research and can identify her further, please leave a comment or contact me directly.
I'm wondering how, if I have the correct Alice Damon Reynolds, she happened to have her photograph taken at Lewiston, Maine.
