Seacoast Canning Company, Eastport, Maine

Vintage photograph of Warehouse A of Seacoast Canning Company, Eastport, Maine.  There's a notation on reverse that this view shows New York Wharf, which is in "back of Randall Cook's".

At one time Eastport was the "sardine capital of the world", but no sardines have been canned there for some time.   In fact, it's possible that the last sardine in Maine may be packed in 2010, with the proposed closing of the last factory still in operation.

Thanks for stopping by!
