January 16, 1854 Canton, Maine, document where C. P. Holland, Selectman of Canton directs Town Treasurer John M. DeShon to pay Samuel Simmons $4.58 for working out NonResident taxes.

These men were presumably:
- Caleb P. Holland (abt 1805-1878)
- John M. DeShon (1805-1880), Town Treasurer
- Samuel Simmons, Payee; apparently a NonResident - perhaps the Samuel Simmons, a Canton native, who was born about 1824 and is buried in Wilton, Maine
