June 15, 1850 Canton, Maine, document where Selectmen Caleb P. Holland and Ira Reynolds direct Treasurer John Hearsey to pay $15 out of the Town Treasury for money paid to the Agent for the Dixfield & Kenebec Stage Co. for damages sustained on the road near Phineas Howe's in Canton the Winter past as per his account on file in this office.
Hopefully a reader will have information on the stage company, which appears to be the Dixfield & Kennebec Stage Co., perhaps a way to tie in to the recently-formed Androscoggin and Kennebec Railroad Company.
