1837 Canton, Maine, Wheat Bounty Document: Winfield S. Shackley, Oakes Thompson, David Carver

December 23, 1837 Canton, Maine, document certifying to Justice of the Peace Oakes Thompson that Winfield S. Shackley raised 33 bushels of wheat in 1837. Also signed with a mark by David Carver, who certified that he assisted in cleaning and measuring said wheat. The bounty, written on the reverse, was $2.78

David Carver - possibly the David Carver who was living in Township 8 [later Byron, Maine] in 1830
