Photograph of Deane Rollins; by a Lewiston, Maine, studio; presumably Deane Whittier Rollins (1882-1944) of Franklin County, Maine

Photograph, perhaps a graduation photograph, of a young man identified on the reverse as Deane Rollins; taken at the Flagg & Plummer studio of Lewiston, Maine.

He was likely Deane Whittier Rollins (1882-1944), who was born 25 September 1882 at New Sharon, Maine, son of carriage maker Frank H. Rollins and Grace E. (Whittier) Rollins. This may be Deane's high school graduation photograph.

Interestingly, the reverse also has the initials G.T. at the bottom edge.

In 1907 Deane graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in economics; at that time his home address was Farmington Falls, Maine.  His career in education:
  • 1910 - teaching in a public school in Stonington, Maine
  • 1920 - superintendent of schools in Castine, Maine
  • 1930 - superintendent of schools in Dexter, Maine
  • 1940 - still superintendent of schools in Dexter, Maine

On 25 May 1908 at Farmington, Maine, Deane married Margaret E. Carsley.  They had at least one child, a daughter born in 1909.
