Index card-sized handmade memento honoring George Washington. It has a length of red, white and blue ribbon woven through the top and an illustration of Washington pasted on. Because the handwriting appears to be that of an adult, I think it's more likely that this was designed for a celebration honoring Washington's birthday rather than as a school project.
The handwriting: "To be prepared for war is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace."
There's a mar at bottom right. Nothing on reverse except for the ribbon woven through from front. Possibly made in Maine.
If you've run across a memento similar to this, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks for stopping by!
