The Annie Dyer whose name appears on the report card is, I believe, Harriet Annie Dyer (1880-1985), daughter of Alden K. and Carrie Ellen (Hooper) Dyer, born at Eastbrook, Maine, and Franklin, Maine, respectively.
Harriet married Daniel G. Young (1880-1963) of Otis, Maine, in 1923. Daniel's previous wife, Lizzie E. (Frost) Young had died in 1917.
Annie and Daniel and family were living at Ellsworth, Maine, at the time of the 1930 Census. Daniel was working as a dairyman.
Annie's teacher, whose signature appears at the bottom of the above image, was R. E. Stevens, whose full name was Roland Earle Stevens (1891-1966), a Newport, Maine, native. His World War I draft enlistment card shows that he was principal of Franklin High School.
His parents were William F. and Gertrude (Russell) Stevens, born at Belfast, Maine, and Charleston, Maine, respectively. He married Kathryn Sarah Black of Eastport, Maine, daughter of Ira and Nellie (Clark) Black, born at Lubec, Maine, and Eastport, Maine, respectively.
By the time of the 1920 Census, Roland was Superintendent of Schools at Ellsworth, Maine. By 1930, he and his growing family were living at Portland, Maine, where he was principal of a junior high school.
Early on and throughout his career as an educator he must have appreciated a conscientious student like Harriet Annie (Dyer) Young.
