1880s autograph album of Annie V. Merrill of Buckfield, Maine.
The album is approximately 5-1/4" x 3-1/2" and contains 59 autographs of relatives and friends, a presentation page and a page inscribed by Annie herself. The presentation page indicates that Annie received the album on her birthday in 1883 from her sister Clara.
From online research, hopefully correct:
Annie V. Merrill was born at Buckfield, Maine, on 22 January 1865, daughter of Charles and Sarah True (Chipman) Merrill, born at Buckfield and at East Oxford, Maine, respectively.
Annie's paternal grandparents were Daniel and Appia Ann M. (Pompelly) Merrill. Her paternal grandparents were Charles W. and Allura Lane (Pompelly) Chipman.
Annie V. Merrill became the second wife of George W. Record at Turner, Maine, in 1889. George signed a page in Annie's album:
In 1891 Annie and George had a daughter, Blanche Maude Record. Blanche signed her mother's album in two places, in different years:
Annie's sister Clara signed a page in 1883:
If Clara's nickname was Caddie, she signed another page in 1889:
Annie's sister Alice Merrill signed a page in 1883:
Annie's sister Appey A. M. Merrill, no doubt named for her paternal grandmother, signed a page in 1883:
Annie "little sister" Mary signed a page in 1885:
