Photograph of Elizabeth W. (Parslow) Jipson, Sherburne, New York
Photograph of a woman identified on reverse as Mrs. J. A. Jipson of Sherburn. I believe she is Elizabeth W. (Parslow) Jipson, wife of James A. Jipson of Sherburne, New York. The photograph was taken by the Hotchkiss Studio of Norwich, New York.
Elizabeth "Libbie" W. Parslow was born in January of 1852 at Lincklaen, New York, the daughter of John Snyder Parslow and his wife Ann/Amy/Nancy (Coon) Parslow. Her paternal grandparents were Henry and Catherine (Bodine) Parslow. Her maternal grandparents were Solomon and Nancy H. (Burdick) Coon.
In 1867 she married James A. Jipson, who was born in August of 1846 at Union Valley, New York, the son of Micah and Deborah (Newton) Jipson. His paternal grandparents were Micah and Mary (Hopkins) Jipson. I don't yet have information on Deborah Newton's parents, or even if Newton was her maiden name.
I found James A. and Elizabeth W. (Parslow) Jipson in the 1870 and 1880 Censuses of Sherburne, New York, with no children living with them. Stretching forward twenty years, they're in the 1900 Census of Sherburne, again with no children listed with them. Perhaps they never had any.
