The booklet was published by Rev. Salem D. Towne of Boston, Massachusetts, who may be the person shown on an end paper.

From brief online research, hopefully correct - corrections and additions gratefully received:

According to their official marriage record, William, born in Winslow, Maine, was the son of Albion H. McClintock and Sarah (Matthews) McClintock.  Susie, a native of Troy, Maine, was the daughter of John Ward and Sarah E. (Childs) Ward.  [Be sure to scroll down on the record to see the reverse.]

William had previously been married to Lou Belle Pearson, a Fairfield native, who died in 1903.

Note: a reader noticed a marriage certificate with photographs of William and Lou at an antique shop in Florida and kindly forwarded this photograph for the benefit of other researchers - many thanks!

William and second wife Sarah made their home in Fairfield, Maine:
  • 1910 - William's occupation was laundry owner
  • 1920 - William's occupation was insurance agent
  • 1930 - William's occupation: "none"
  • 1940 - William's occupation - line left blank
