CDV of Nell Stetson; by the Trask Studio of Bangor, Maine

Carte de Visite of a young woman identified on the reverse as Nell Setson; the CDV was produced by the M. G. Trask studio of 3 Bowman's Block, Bangor, Maine

From brief online research, hopefully correct:  [corrections and additions requested]

Nell may have been Nellie Mabel Stetson, born April 5, 1873 at Kenduskeag, Maine, the daughter of George Hamlin Stetson and Angenette Sawyer (Boynton) Stetson.  On September 2, 1896 at Bangor, Maine, Nellie married Storer Wheelwright Thaxter, son of Albert Henry Thaxter and Ellen (Wheelwright) Thaxter.  This Nellie died on August 25, 1908 at Bangor, Maine and is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Bangor.

If you have corrections and/or additions to the information above, or if you recognize Nell from your family photographs and research, especially if you believe her to be another Nell Stetson, please leave a comment or contact me directly.

  1. Not the Nell that you have suggested.

The photograph is a thin mount carte de visite and typical of the 1860s- very early 1870s. If this were Nell, she would have been an infant in a photograph of this type.

    1. Interesting... So maybe I should look for an aunt and, if not, start from scratch. Thanks for your input!
