Page from a journal handwritten by an unknown person, but likely by a descendant of William Ripley, that lists the deaths at Cornish, New Hampshire from 1826 to 1850. This post covers deaths in 1834.
Interestingly, an article in the New England Historical and Genealogical Register of 1917, pages 338-342, describes the project undertaken by William Ripley to record deaths in Cornish, New Hampshire, from 1775 until his death in 1818, upon which the task was given over to subsequent descendants.
The journal here is, I believe, either a copy of the original records, by a descendant of William Ripley, or was kept as the deaths happened by William Ripley's son Col. James Ripley until his death in 1842, leaving no descendants, and then by William Ripley's grandson Deacon James Ripley Wellman, son of Althea (Ripley) Wellman.
See other posts that list deaths in the years:
- 1826; 1827; 1828; 1829; 1830; 1831; 1832; 1833; 1835; 1836; 1837; 1838; 1839; 1840; 1841; 1842; 1843; 1844; 1845; 1846; 1847; 1848; 1849; 1850
The journal measures approximately 9-3/4" by 8" and consists of the covers, 8 interior pages, with entries also on the inside back cover.
"Con" might refer to "Consumption", whether tuberculosis or an all-inclusive term for wasting away. "OA" is presumably "Old Age". Chm or Cm presumably refer to "Church Member". Some pages mention "Bm", which might be "Baptist member".

Sources for the information, hopefully correct, that I've added to the listings:
- History of the Town of Cornish, New Hampshire, with Genealogical Record, 1763-1910, Volume 2, published about 1911 by William Henry Child
- FindaGrave.com
- FamilySearch.org
The entries are a bit jumbled, so be forewarned that the deaths might not have occurred in the month noted, and some dates don't match other sources, but are close and may even be more dependable, if this journal is truly a primary source.
January - note that entries are not in order.
January - note that entries are not in order.
- 23 or 24 - Deacon John Weld, 82, Bm. His death date is given as January 22, 1834, on both his gravestone and in his mention on page 392 and 393 of History of the Town of Cornish, New Hampshire, with Genealogical Record, 1763-1910, Volume 2.

She was Mehitable (Wyman) Bryant, born in 1773, as mentioned on pages 35 and 36 of History of the Town of Cornish, New Hampshire, with Genealogical Record, 1763-1910, Volume 2, where her month of death was given as June, a common mistake. Her Find a Grave memorial also gives June as the month of death. If the journal was written year by year as they happened, I'd lean toward the month of death as being January.

February

- 8 - A Child of Plorival Bartlett - 2 yrs. Born in 1832, child of Plorival Bartlett and Sarah (?) Bartlett, as mentioned on page 24 of History of the Town of Cornish, New Hampshire, with Genealogical Record, 1763-1910, Volume 2.

- A Child at Mr. White's. Presumably Zinias Grave White, born about 1830, son of Aaron Smith White and first wife Lydia (Westgate) White. Aaron and Lydia are mentioned on page 141 of History of the Town of Cornish, New Hampshire, with Genealogical Record, 1763-1910, Volume 2; Zinias would have been perhaps their first child, though he's not shown in their list of children. Note: Zinias' Find a Grave memorial misspells his given name as Zinais, but there's a photograph of his stone attached, showing Zinias.
- 30 - An Infant of Levi Chapman - 3 mo. Presumably Alice M. Chapman, born July 20, 1834; died October 4, 1834, daughter of Levi Chapman and Alice (Squires) Chapman, as mentioned on page 57 of History of the Town of Cornish, New Hampshire, with Genealogical Record, 1763-1910, Volume 2.

Possibly November, but more likely December - journal writer didn't say for sure
- A Child of Aaron Bryant. Possibly George A. Bryant, born October 5, 1832, son of Aaron Bryant and Hannah W. (Johnson) Bryant. George's Find a Grave memorial gives his death date as December 15, 1834; whereas a mention on him on page 37 of History of the Town of Cornish, New Hampshire, with Genealogical Record, 1763-1910, Volume 2 gives his death year as 1854. December; hopefully the death year of 1854 is in error, or I have the wrong child of an Aaron Bryant.
December
- 21 - Wife of Peleg Weld - Con, Chm, 44. She was Patty (Foster) Weld, born April 10, 1791, daughter of Israel Foster and Susanna (Bruce) Foster; married Peleg Weld on April 27, 1808, as mentioned in History of the Town of Cornish, New Hampshire, with Genealogical Record, 1763-1910, Volume 2.
Whole number in 1834 - 28 [my count is 27]
