Family Bible of Edith Agnes (Spicer) Hudson of New York and Massachusetts

Family Bible of Edith Agnes (Spicer) Hudson of New York and Massachusetts that appears to have passed to her daughter Hazel Irene (Hudson) Harrison.

The Bible is approximately 11" x 7-1/2" x 2-3/4".  Sadly, only one of the eight Family Record pages is marked.

The Bible, a Hitchcock's New and Complete Analysis of the Holy Bible, was printed in 1871 by A. J. Johnson of 276 and 278 Mulberry Street, in New York, New York.

Someone, possibly Edith Agnes or Hazel Irene, marked a page with the dates of Bible readings in the 1930s.

The only completed Family Record page lists birth dates of Edith Agnes (Spicer) Hudson and her three children and the four children of Agnes' daughter Hazel Irene (Hudson) Harrison.

  • E. Agnes Hudson, born April 5, 1877
  • Wallace Hudson, born February 26, 1905
  • Hazel Irene Hudson, born June 8, 1898
  • Myrtle Lillian Hudson, born June 8, 1899; died July 3, 1901
[Children of Hazel Irene Hudson with husband Fred James Harrison]
  • Arwin [?] Frederick Harrison, born July 12, 1916; died July 16, 1916
  • Fred William Harrison, born December 11, 1917
  • Hadeline Mildred Harrison, born March 12, 1920
  • Jane Linnie Harrison, born November 23, 1924
From online research, hopefully correct: [corrections and additions welcome!]

Edith Agnes (Spicer) Hudson was born 5 April 1877 in New York, the daughter of John Porter Spicer and Linnie Eusebia (Frazier) Spicer, who were both New York natives.  I haven't found any definitive information on Edith Agnes' husband William H. Hudson.

Edith Agnes (Spicer) Hudson lived at Ticonderoga, New York and, later, at Hague, New York.  The 1930 Census of Westfield, Massachusetts lists her living there with her son Wallace Franklin Hudson.  The last record I found of her was a brief mention in a Fall, 1934 Ticonderoga, New York newspaper of her visit there from Westfield, Massachusetts.

If you find any of the information above in error or if you have additional information on the Spicer, Hudson and Harrison families, without naming living people, please leave a comment or contact me directly.  Thanks!
