Cabinet Photograph of Jean Joseph de Fashion or deFassion of Lyon, France; taken by Naugatuck, Connecticut studio
Cabinet photograph of a man identified below his image as Jean Joseph deFashion, a resident of Lyon, France, who honeymooned in the United States and stayed there.
I wasn't able to find any references to this man using my usual U.S. resources, though I did find an intriguing reference to a deFashion Street in Southington, Connecticut. And I found some people, born in France, surnamed deFassion living in Connecticut, but not a Jean Joseph deFassion.
Perhaps Jean Joseph deFassion happened to honeymoon in the United States because he had relatives already living in Connecticut.
I'm not sure if the writer meant Lyon, France or Lyons-la-Foret, France.
If you have information on Jean Joseph deFashion or Jean Joseph deFassion, please leave a comment or contact me directly.
Naugatuck, Connecticut [Southington, Connecticut is not far to the northeast.]
