Photograph of the Farm of Thurza Foss of Harmony, Maine
Mounted photograph of the farm of Thurza Foss of Harmony, Maine. The photograph alone measures nearly 6-1/2" by 4-1/2"; the matted piece measures nearly 10" by 8".

From brief online research, hopefully correct: [corrections and additions welcome]
Thurza Ellen (Merryman) Foss was born June 11, 1860 at St. Albans, Maine, daughter of Thomas Merryman and Hannah Ann (Rollins) Merryman. About 1878, Thurza married her step-sibling Howard Hurd, son of Ira and Mary R. (Weeman) Hurd. [After Mary R. (Weeman) Hurd, died, Ira married Thurza's mother widow Hannah Ann (Rollins) Merryman.]
Thurza and Howard had, I believe, one child, son Howard L. Hurd, before the elder Howard died in 1882 and was buried in the Mainstream Cemetery at Harmony, Maine.
On May 4, 1884 at Harmony, Maine, widow Thurza Ellen (Merryman) Hurd married widower Benjamin Franklin Foss, "Frank", who was born July 4, 1840, son of John and Hannah M. (Grant) Foss. Benjamin's first wife was Clarinda V. (Foss) Foss, with whom he had two children. Thurza and Frank had three daughters.
Frank died June 20, 1901. Based on the phrasing of the identification, the photograph may have been taken after his death and perhaps before Thurza's death in 1937 [note a mistaken date of 1907 in an online listing of gravesites].
If you have corrections and/or additions to the information above, please leave a comment of contact me directly. I'd also like to know if this farm still stands today.
