Post 1917 Photograph of Pvt. Manuel Pacheco at the Post Commissary at Mitchel Field, Long Island, New York
Candid photograph of Private Manuel Pacheco and his canine and equine pals at Mitchel Field, a former air base at Hempstead, Long Island, New York.
The complex at Hempstead Plains that had been used for military training since the time of the Revolution was renamed Mitchel Field in honor of New York City mayor John Purroy Mitchel, who was killed during air training in Louisiana in 1917.
I found multiple men of a plausible age by the name of Manuel Pacheco, including several in Bristol County, Massachusetts.
If you recognize Private Manuel Pacheco from his photograph and/or from your knowledge of his military service, please leave a comment or contact me directly. Thanks!
