c1904 Photograph of Ralph Howard Pearson of Guilford, Maine, student at University of Maine

c1904 Photograph of a  young man identified on the reverse as Ralph H. Pearson of Guilford, Maine.

The photograph was found with a collection of photographs of students from the University of Maine, several of whom graduated in 1904 from the engineering department.  The photograph was taken by the Chalmers studio of Bangor, Maine.

The image of the reverse, shown below, has been enhanced a bit for legibility of the handwriting.

From online research, hopefully correct: [corrections welcome]

Ralph Howard Pearson was born 24 August 1882 at Guilford, Maine, the son of David and Harriet "Hattie" W. (Bennett) Pearson, who were born at Hadfield, England, and, I think, Guilford, Maine, respectively.  David Pearson was a trader and grocer who came to the United States when he was in his late teens.

Ralph's paternal grandparents were Joseph and Mary (Warburton) Pearson.   His maternal grandparents were Benjamin and Rachel H. (Webber) Bennett.  Rachel died when Hattie was about two.  Hattie's father then married Louisa J. Nickerson, daughter of George and Susan Jane (Savage) Nickerson.

Ralph Howard Pearson graduated from the University of Maine in 1904 with a degree in electrical engineering.  By 1910 he was working in Minneapolis, Minnesota in an electrical shop.  By 1920 he was in Dallas, Texas, working as an electrical engineer at Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company.

I found a reference online where Ralph died in 1940 at Guilford, Maine, but I can't find an official record of that.
