Photograph of a young woman identified on the reverse as Mae (Shea) Irvine. Presumably Mary A. Shea (Gallagher) Irvine (1879-1935), wife or future wife of James Howard Irvine (1877-1970), "Howard", whom she married in 1906.
There's some confusion with her name.
- The ID on the photograph shows her name as Mae (Shea) Irvine.
- Caribou, Maine, Annual Reports from the years when she was teaching, before her marriage, show her name as Mae Shea, such as the report from 1901-1902.
- Her marriage record of 1906 shows her name as May Shea Gallagher.
- Her FindaGrave Memorial shows her name as Mary A. Shea (Gallagher) Irvine.
The Bath Independent newspaper of Bath, Maine, issue of November 23, 1939, mentions that James Howard Irvine (1877-1970), Howard, was shot and seriously wounded while deer hunting near Presque Isle, Maine.
