Calling Card of Edwin T. Adams of Farmington, Maine
Fancy embossed calling card of Edwin T. Adams of Farmington, Maine, showing his membership in various Masonic units.
From online research, hopefully correct:
Edwin Thomas Adams was born 21 October 1871, the son of Thomas Hiscock Adams and wife Hannah Elizabeth (Corbett) Adams of Farmington, Maine.
His paternal grandparents were Benjamin and Margaret (Riant) Adams. His maternal grandparents were Amasa and Angeline (Beale) Corbett.
On 30 November 1895, Edwin married Rena Ethel House, also known as Serena Ethel House. She was born 3 May 1974, at New Sharon, Maine, the daughter of Francis Knowlton House and wife Mary G. (Austin) House.
The couple raised at least one child at Farmington, Maine, where Edwin was a railroad agent. Edwin died in 1925, and his widow in 1949.

Photograph of Allie Bragdon & Leander Briggs, by an Old Town, Maine studio
Late 1800s cabinet photograph of two men identified on reverse as Allie Bragdon and Leander Briggs. The photograph was taken by the Howe studio of Old Town, Maine.
I'm not sure who Allie Bragdon and Leander Briggs were. Allie's nickname could have come from Albert or Allan or Alison or the like.
As for Leander Briggs, I found an interesting comment online about a Leander Briggs born in Maine about 1901 - that he was born John Witham but was raised by the Briggs family and went by the name Leander Briggs unofficially.
The unofficial Leander Briggs was born too late to be the Leander in the photograph, but perhaps he was inspired by a real Leander in his adoptive family.
If you have any theories as to the identities of Allie Bragdon and Leander Briggs, please leave a comment or contact me directly.

c1900 Photograph of Seth Bradstreet, by a Belfast, Maine studio
Photograph of a young man identified on reverse as Seth Bradstreet. Taken by the W. L. Hall studio of Belfast, Maine.
Note: See a newer post, dated 19 June 2012, which features photographs of Seth's father Fred and sister Gertie.
From online research, hopefully correct:
I believe the young man is the Seth Henry Bradstreet, born 20 April 1885 at Freedom, Maine, son of Frederick K. and Clara A. (Harvey) Bradstreet, both Freedom natives.
Seth Henry Bradstreet graduated from Freedom Academy in 1903. Perhaps this was his graduation photograph.
Seth's paternal grandparents were Simon and Eunice (Fuller) Bradstreet. His maternal grandparents were Asa and Margaret (Bradstreet) Harvey.
On 29 August 1908 at Palermo, Maine, Seth Henry Bradstreet married Ethel Gladys Nelson. She was born 19 August 1887 at Palermo, Maine, daughter of Horatio M. Hussey Nelson and Sarah Frances "Sadie" (Shorey) Nelson, who were born in Palermo and Albion, Maine, respectively.
Ethel's paternal grandparents were Jacob Washington Nelson and Keziah Howe (Gould). Her maternal grandparents were Francis and Jane P. Shorey.
After their marriage, Seth and Ethel moved to Albion to take care of a farm owned by a recently deceased relative. They had ten children there and were still living in Albion at the time of the 1930 Census. One of their grandsons served as Maine's Commissioner of Agriculture.
Read an interview with Seth's son Seth Henry Bradstreet Jr. about the family and their farming activities here.
If you have any corrections, additions or insights regarding any of the information here, or if you think the Seth pictured is a different Seth, please leave a comment or contact me directly.

Tintype of the Downs children, Walter, Albert & Jennie
Mounted tintype of three children, identified as Walter Downs, Albert Downs and Jennie Downs.
They were presumably the children of Lester Downs and Velma P. (Virgin) Downs of Mexico, Maine. The boys were born in the 1920s and Jennie in the early 1930s.
If you feel these siblings are not the Downs children of Mexico, Maine, please leave a comment or contact me directly.
1911 RPPC of Agnes, sent to Miss Mildred Wilcox at Chester, Connecticut
Real Photo Postcard showing young Agnes, who I believe was Agnes Elizabeth Wilcox, daughter of Robert and Agnes (McNamara) Wilcox, born about 1910 while her parents were in Panama.
The postcard was addressed to Robert's youngest sibling, Miss Mildred Wilcox at Chester, Connecticut, but doesn't appear to have been sent by mail.
There's a date, March 7, 1911, written on the card, which I assume is young Agnes' age when the photograph was taken.
From online research, hopefully correct:
Robert Wilcox and his sister Mildred Wilcox were the children of Joseph S. Wilcox and his wife Mary or Marie Wilcox, who were born in Connecticut and Germany respectively.
Robert was born about 1877 in New York, and Mildred about 1893 in Connecticut. There were six other siblings, two born in New York and the rest in Connecticut.
Young Agnes' mother, Agnes Elizabeth McNamara was born about 1873 in Connecticut. I believe she is the Agnes McNamara who was enumerated in the 1900 Census of Chester, Connecticut, along with her sister and two brothers.
Young Agnes would grow up to marry Albert Alexander Campbell in New Hampshire.

Photograph of Helen Estelle Jackson; Belfast, Maine studio
Photograph of a young woman identified on reverse as Helen Estelle Jackson; taken by the studio of Adrian C. Tuttle of Belfast, Maine.
I haven't had much success nailing down the identity of a Helen Estelle Jackson, especially in the Belfast, Maine area. Whether Jackson is a maiden name or married, I don't know, but I assumed it was a maiden name.
Expanding farther into Maine, I found a Helen E. Jackson at Tremont, Maine, in Hancock County, and a Helen E. Jackson at Sebec, Maine, in Piscataquis County.
An entirely different Helen Estelle Jackson might have been visiting in the Belfast area.
If you have any theories as to the identity of the Helen Estelle Jackson in the photograph, please leave a comment or contact me directly.
