Wonderful vintage RPPC of ball team, trotting park in background

Wonderful early Real Photo Postcard of a baseball team, with a trotting track in the background.

Some letters are visible on the colored band on some of the uniforms.  I can see maybe an "H","I" and "S" on one side, with possibly a letter(s) before that.  I can't decipher any letters on the opposite band.   If you have better luck, please comment.

Perhaps an approximate time frame can be determined from the catcher's mitt style.    Enjoy!

Myron Butterfield, photograph

Photograph of Myron Butterfield; unfortunately there is no photographer information to help pinpoint Myron's location.  I didn't find anyone on the Census right off, though there were numerous choices where Myron was the middle name.

Online search found several instances of a Myron Butterfield, one who retired to Arizona, one who was the son of Edward and Ella (Brown) Butterfield; one who lived from 1863 to 1939 and is buried in New York; one in Illinois, etc.

Probably the only way to find the correct identity of the Myron pictured here is for you out there to recognize him from family photos.  Please contact me if you can help.  Thanks - and enjoy!

Universalist Church, Galesburg, Illinois; 1874 ceremony

Unfolded, this is 11" long, but is only 2/3 as wide as a sheet of 8-1/2x11 piece of paper; it was then folded once..
There may have been another sheet at some point, as what you see here is the only printed portion.  It tells where and when, but not what and why.

Mildred M. Pottle, b. 1878 Perry, Maine; married Harry L. Carson

Cabinet photograph of Mabel M. Pottle, who married Harry L. Carson in her middle age.  Mabel, born probably in Perry, Maine in 1878, was the daughter of Adam E. and Ida E. Pottle.  Harry was born in 1878 at Robbinston, Maine and was first married to Beatrice Mildred Daggett, with whom he had several children.  Click for Mabel M. Pottle family tree




Incidentally, the handwriting on this and some other photographs found with it, looks to me like that of Virginia (Golding) Pottle of Perry, Maine, daughter of noted storyteller Rob Golding.

CDV, Johnnie Brewster, Baltimore Maryland Photographer

Johnnie Brewster, as a young fellow, captured in a CDV by a Baltimore, Maryland photographer.  I found a 3 year old John Brewster, born in Maryland, in the 1870 Baltimore Census.  He was the son of John, b. abt 1831, Massachusetts, and wife Margaret, born abt 1841 in Pennsylvania.  Whether I have the correct family or not, I'm not sure.

Please let me know if you have information on Johnnie.
