c1940 Photograph of a Camp, possibly with an Orrington, Maine, Connection: Mentions Wilbur Clark, "Bud", & wife Mary E. Clark, "Lib"; Louis & Helen Cobb; Donald Freeman; Ralph Ryder

Photograph of a camp identified on the reverse as the camp of Wilbur Clark, "Bud", and wife Mary E. Clark, "Lib".  The camp may have been in Orrington, Maine, or had an Orrington connection.

The photograph measures approximately 7" by a bit less than 5" and is mounted on a mat measuring 10" by 8".

Two sets of handwriting on the reverse indicate that the camp was purchased by Bud and Lib from Donald Freeman and moved to a lot purchased from Ralph Ryder, and was being occupied by Louis and Helen Cobb.

1913 Maine Register, State Year-Book and Legislative Manual, includes mention of lumber dealer Wilbur Clark and florist Ralph Ryder in the town of Orrington, Maine.  Further research shows that Louis Howard Cobb and wife Helen (Brown) Cobb were living at Orrington, Maine, at the time the 1940 Census was enumerated.

If you recognize this camp or if you have knowledge of the Clarks, Donald Freeman, Ralph Ryder and/or the Cobbs, please leave a comment or contact me directly.
