1894-1899 Autograph Album of Katherine J. Kuch, "Katie" of Marengo, Iowa

1894-1899 autograph album that belonged to Katherine J. Kuch , "Katie", of Marengo, Iowa.  The album is not in good condition, and some pages might be missing, including any ownership or presentation page.

The album, which measures about 6-3/4" by 4-1/2", is puffy, with padded velveteen covers.  It contains the sentiments of 13 of Katie's relatives, friends, schoolmates and at least one teacher, Alice Cafferty.  An alphabetical list of the inscribers, together with any personal information they offered, appears at the end of this post.

The albums contains full page illustrations throughout, including maritime scenes, which must have been interesting to a young girl in Iowa.

From brief online research, hopefully correct - corrections and additions requested:

Katherine J. Kuch, "Katie", was born April 22, 1885, the daughter of John Kuch and Katherine (Kohler) Kuch.  I believe Katie had four siblings, three of whom inscribed pages in her album.

On February 22, 1906 at Washington Township, Iowa, Katie married Philip J. Vogt, son of Anton Vogt and Anna (Renz) Vogt.   I believe Katie and Philip had at least two children - sons who were both long lived.

Philip died in 1975 and Katie in 1978.  They're buried in the IOOF Cemetery at Marengo, Iowa, with their sons and other family members.
