Victorian Card Presented to Letha Grover by Teacher Ida M. Haselton, presumably at Bethel, Maine

Victorian card presented to Letha Grover by Ida Haselton.  I believe that Ida M. Haselton was teaching at Bethel, Maine, where one of her students was Letha Grover.

Ida M. Haselton was born August 23, 1855 in Maine, the daughter of John Haselton and Hannah (Wheeler) Haselton.  Ida's name appears in a record from the Maine Faylene Hutton Cemetery Collection, c 1780-1990, indicating that she died on November 5, 1926 and is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Bethel, Maine, with her husband James Wellman Wheeler, who died July 26, 1884 at the age of 66.

Intriguingly, Ida's maiden name of Haselton appears on Census enumerations and city directory listings after 1884; she's even listed as Miss Ida M. Haselton in the 1922 directory of Oxford, Maine.  Perhaps she kept her maiden name for teaching purposes.  Hopefully a reader can clear up this issue.

Letha Grover was born about April 1880, daughter of Leander Gage Grover and Lydia D. (Wheeler) Grover of Bethel, Maine.  On November 23, 1921 at Bethel, Maine, Letha married Harry W. Churchill, son of, I think, Demeritt S. Churchill and Minnie (Blake) Churchill.  

Letha died in 1938 and is buried with her parents and other family members in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Bethel, Maine.  Harry married Josephine (St. Peter) Gould in 1939.
