1870s/1880s Autograph Album of Southeastern New Hampshire

1870s/1880s autograph album with signatures mainly from Rockingham County, New Hampshire.  There is no name written on the inside cover, first end paper, title page or page after.

The album is approximately 7" x 4-1/4" and contains 52 pages signed mostly by people from southeastern New Hampshire, with a few from Massachusetts, Maine, Dakota Territory, Illinois and the Maritime Provinces.  Several pages had been removed before the album came into my possession.

An alphabetical list of the signers appears at the end of this post.

The first signed in the album was signed by George Rowe of Brentwood, New Hampshire, but his page was two pages past the title page, which would seem to rule him out as the album owner.

I'll give a few examples of pages in the album as I page through.

Emma H. Sinclair signed a page at Brentwood, New Hampshire, on 2 March 1877.

Caroline E. Osgood of Boston, Massachusetts, signed a page on 1 August 1877.

Perhaps related to Caroline, a ? Osgood Reynolds signed his name within an intricate sketch.  He may have been T. Osgood Reynolds, and perhaps Thomas Osgood Reynolds, a Civil War surgeon from New Hampshire.

A name that appears to be Robert Rounsevell of Carroll, New Hampshire, signed a page.

Benjamin Andrews of Prince Edward Island signed a page.

Jewett P. Swasey of Exeter, New Hampshire penned a mesmerizing page in 1883.

Miriam Hayes of Halifax, Nova Scotia, signed a page in 1878.

Nellie C. Otis of Exeter, New Hampshire, signed a page on 26 August 1878.

W. C. Jackson [not sure of middle initial], signed a page at Brentwood, New Hampshire in July 1882.  The handwriting appears to be that of an elderly person.

Lawrence Morse of Chester, New Hampshire, signed a page on 30 April 1883.  His middle initial may have been S or L.  I did find a Lawrence Lee Morse living at Chester.

Clinton Douglas of Faulkton, Dakota signed a page, as did Hetta F. Douglas.

Clara E. Whidden of Brentwood, New Hampshire, signed a page in July 1885.

Mary S. Rowe of Gilford Mill, New Hampshire, signed a page on 22 September 1878.

Alf Martz of Camden, Maine, signed a page on 1 November 1882.
