Graduation Photograph of George Stewart York from Yarmouth, Maine HS

1898 Graduation Photograph of a young man identified on reverse as George Stewart York, from Y. H. S., which I assume is Yarmouth High School at Yarmouth, Maine.  No photographer's mark.

See a related post with a photograph of Professor Herbert Moore, who was presumably the principal at Yarmouth High School in 1898.

From online research, hopefully correct - corrections requested:

George Stewart York (1880-1961) was born 25 December 1880 at Pownal, Maine, the son of William F. and Abbie C. (Loring) York, born at Pownal, Maine, and North Yarmouth, Maine, respectively.

On 2 August 1909 at Yarmouth, Maine, George married Eva Mae (Colson) Winslow.  She was the widow of Forrest H. Winslow and had a daughter Zoie [or Zoe?] from that marriage.

Eva was born about 1881 at Belfast, Maine, daughter of Charles W. and Eva M. (Bates) Colson.  Eva M. (Bates) Colson was born at Frankfort, Maine.

In the 1910 Census, George, Eva and Zoie were living at Yarmouth, Maine.  George was working as a chemist at a pulp mill. Eva died in 1913; George later married Gertrude Kimball

If you have any corrections and/or information to share, please leave a comment for the benefit of other researchers.
